Spring Break 5

The fifth day we were in Las Vegas. The night in Vegas is unbelievable, so bright, so crowded, so alive, so much going on... We didn't even have time to visit most of the famous hotels. We missed the famous show as well. The one we watched is not bad but not the best. :-(

Spring Break 4

The fourth day is what I expected the most --- the Grand Canyon. It is a bit foggy that day so the pictures are not as good as I expected. But the Canyon is really worth its name as one of the 7 wonders of the world, AMAZING!!! The IMAX show of the Canyon is really wonderful too.

Spring Break 3

The third day we visited the London bridge at Lake Havasu City. And stay over night in Laughlin, the third biggest gambling city in Nevada. The No. 1 of course is Las Vegas, the second is Reno.

Spring Break 2

The second day we visited Disneyland, I'm kind of disappointed because it is not as big as I thought and the long line up for each single attraction is really amazing. We line up for 1.5 hours to take a picture with Mickey. No wonder I was told I had to stay a few days in order to try everything. I got to watch the parade twice and We waited for 2 hours for the Night show and the firework, which is really worth waiting.

Almost 2 hours waiting for this picture with Mickey in Mickey's backyark barn in Mickey's Toontown.
I was going to take pictures with all the princesses, but by the time we took the picture with Mickey it is too late. :-(

Spring Break 1

I went to US with Franny during Spring break. I took an airplane to L.A. on March 16th. The next day we visited Universal Studio. We both had lots of fun taking pictures. The highlight for me is the Studio Tour and Water World. The 4D Shrek and Donkey is really fun to watch too. I have to mention that both of us had a good practice for our screaming in the House of Horrors. :P

Night of 2007 Lights -- Lantern Festival

I went to the Lantern Festival in Deer Lake Park with a friend last night. This is the first time I joined Lantern Festival in Vancouver. It is really fun!

When we got there, the drum circle already started. Too bad, I had a workshop to attend during the daytime so we missed part of the festival.

But luckily we had chance to see the beautiful sunset on top of Deer Lake. It is breath taking!

There is a very large lantern labyrinth with lots of people having fun inside.

And there is shadow puppet show as well. This is the first time I see this preformed. It is amazing!

We walked around to look at different lanterns before we sat down and chatted while we watching the procession going around us along with the drumbeats. It is a very cool night. One lady came by gave us a candle because she said it is lantern festival, every body should have a lantern. Most of the people, especially kids, have lanterns with them. It reminds me the moon festival in China when I was a little girl.

The most wonderful part of the night is the fireshow. I saw fireshow a few times before, but this one is the most amazing one and involved the most performers.

I really enjoyed the night!

BC Parkway Trail

On last Sunday, I went for a really long walk along the BC Parkway Trail under the Skytrain line. The BC Parkway is an existing pedestrian and cycle path that roughly parallels the Expo SkyTrain line from Vancouver's Clark Drive area through Burnaby to New Westminster. We started around 10:45am at VCC Clark Station and ended around 5pm at the New West Quay.

The trail

Now my feet still feel sore, but the scenery we saw along the trail makes the long walk under the sun worthy it. The trail is along the skytrain track as long as a old railway.

I'm so proud of myself to be able to make it all the way the end of the trail. The first time I tried this trail last year, I gave up at metrotown in Burnaby. But this time I finally made it!

Arrive New West

It was so hot walking on a big part of the trail where is not shady. But I have to enjoy the nice sunny summer days since it won't last too long.

And the tasting of black berries is another thing to be remembered and the Gelato at the end of the walk at the New West Quay.

Walk on the Lions Gate Bridge

During the Labor Day long weekends, I went for a walk from Vancouver downtown Coal Harbour, to the Stanley Park Seawall and then cross the Lions Gate Bridge to North Van.
The walk in Stanley Park is great.

And the scenery on the bridge is awesome.
