Busy weekends

Last night I started the first day training for my volunteering for the parent support program. I am so happy to meet a group of wonderful people and learn a lot from them. I really enjoy myself. Eventhough I will not have any day off for this weekend, I think it is worthy. From listening to other volunteers' experience, I feel it is really rewarding to be able to help parents in order to help the kids and give back to community. As an African proverb says "It takes a village to raise a child." I'm happy and lucky to be a member of the village.

I volunteered before for children program or planning activities for kids, but this will be the first time I volunteer for parents/families dealing with or concerning about abuse issues. I see this as a challenge and it will be a really valuable self-grow process for me. I always get (e.g. experience,growth,knownledge...) more than I give by volunteering.
